Tip - Reading a Mac HD in Windows

It has been awhile since I had time to write a blog post, but here is a quick one.

One of the tools in the IT person's arsenal is connecting an external harddrive to USB port to recover data or try to fix a problem.  What if that drive was from a Mac?  Well, connecting it to your Windows based PC will not help much.  If you have a Linux PC around, then that would probalby work.

However, as a consultant, I do not carry only my Windows laptop around with me.  Using Catacombae's HFS Explorer will allow your PC to mount and read the HFS, HFS+ and HFSX information from a Mac harddrive as well as open typical .dmg files.  All you need is the Java SE Runtime Environment and you are off and running.

Good Luck!
